Many foods stick to the walls, blades, and lids of the blender. Sometimes a simple washing does not remove these residues or parts that we cannot immerse in water, such as the motor and cables, get dirty. How to clean blender?

You will need:

• Dishwashing liquid
• Half fresh lemon
• Hot water
• Cleaning cloth
• Sponge
• Sodium bicarbonate
• Brush

Step 1

The first step in cleaning a blender is to unplug it and disassemble the blender jar. Depending on the model, the parts will be removable. In some cases the blades, base and gasket seal go separately. In other cases, the blades and the base are glued. Also, some lids come in two sections to be able to introduce food without staining.

Step 2

Once the glass is disassembled, we will wash each part separately, in the parts where the food is stuck we can use the brush to remove the plates of stuck food. If we use warm and soapy water it will be easier to clean the parts of the blender. In the case of the blades, they may need a little oil in the base to lubricate them and make them rotate better and care must always be taken when handling them to avoid injuries.

If we cannot or want to disassemble the glass or we do not think it is necessary, we can remove the remains of food by filling up half the glass with hot water and a few drops of dish detergent or a little bicarbonate, if we want to remove the bad smell we can add half lemon with everything and peel, in addition to detaching the food, it helps eliminate odors. We put our blender into action for thirty seconds or until the food particles come off, we let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes and we throw the liquid away. In some cases, it will be necessary to repeat this action.

When our blender is well clean we will throw the liquid down the drain and wash it as usual with a sponge and warm water. The glass of the blender can be washed in the dishwasher so it is also an option.

When the parts that make up the glass are clean we must let them dry well before reassembling the glass.

Tips for cleaning the blender motor

To clean the motor in a blender we only have to wipe a cloth moistened with hot soapy water. It is not always necessary to clean it inside, but if it is the case it is best to ask for professional help. We can help ourselves with a brush to remove some scabs.

The blender cable is also important to clean so we will slide the hot wet cloth over the entire cable (always disconnected from the plug). Once the engine is clean, we just have to dry it well before connecting it.

When crushing hard material such as ice, do it in small quantities and sizes. Remember to do a proper cleaning.
